Fuel tank, replacing: Preparations

Draining the fuel tank

Use fuel draining units 9812270 , 9812273 and 9812282 . Insert the hose through the filler pipe.

NOTE:

Insert the hose at least 1 meter in order to reach the fuel. Cut the end of hose at an angle to get past all sharp edges.

5-door models:

Remove all the floor hatches. Fold the carpet out of the way
Remove the cover over the fuel pump (FP) unit.

4-door models:

Fold the right rear seat forward
Remove the cargo compartment carpet
Fold back the corner of wheel housing panel at the shock absorber mounting
Remove the cover over the fuel pump (FP) unit.
