Remove the Drive Shaft From the Gearbox

Remove:
- the splash guard under the engine. See Remove the Splash Guard Under the Engine
- the cover for the drive shaft pilot bearing.
Pull the drive shaft straight out from the gearbox.
NOTE:
Do not damage the drive shaft when removing it from the transmission.
CAUTION:
Later models have a rubber seal on the constant velocity joint. Do not damage the seal. It will be needed for installation.
