Removing driver's airbag (SRS)

Turn the steering wheel so that there is enough space for tools.

Slacken off the two screws positioned at 45 degrees on the reverse of the steering wheel.

Pull out the airbag to access the connectors.

Remove:

the SRS ignition cable connector. See Igniter Wire Connector
the 2 connectors (there may be more or fewer).

Remove the airbag.

Transfer the keypads/covers. See Keypad Unit, Steering Wheel, Replacing .

Turn the steering wheel so that there is enough space for tools.

Slacken off the two screws positioned at 45° on the reverse of the steering wheel.

Pull out the airbag to access the connectors.

Remove:

the SRS ignition cable connector. See Igniter Wire Connector
the 2 connectors (there may be more or fewer).

Remove the airbag.

Transfer the keypads/covers. See Keypad Unit, Steering Wheel, Replacing .
