Remove the constant velocity joint from the shaft

Pry the lock ring out of the groove and position a drift, as described above, between the lock ring lugs.
Tap out the inner ring on the shaft a bit so that the lock ring is held open.
Use a brass drift to tap out the constant velocity joint.

CAUTION:

Only tap out the inner ring so as not to damage the bearing race or outer ring.

Remove the lock ring from the joint.
