Greasing Auxiliaries Belt Tensioner

Remove auxiliaries drive belt

Use jointed socket wrench with 3/8-inch mounting on the belt tensioner and remove load from belt.

Remove drive belt.

Remove the tensioner

Slacken off two belt tensioner screws and remove the belt tensioner.

Greasing the automatic tension roll

Remove the tensioner center screw and disassemble as illustrated.

Apply grease P/N 11 61 246-2 (50g) or 11 61 247-0 (500g) between the friction plate and the cover, and in the four holes for the spring. (as arrowed)

Assemble the tensioner. Tighten center screw to 20 Nm .

Reinstall the tensioner

Torque to 20 Nm .

Install drive belt

Place belt around crankshaft.

Then around air conditioning (A/C) compressor, idler pulley, generator (GEN) and power steering pump.

(Scored line displays belt routing without air conditioning (A/C).)

Turn the belt tensioner with the jointed socket wrench and install the belt.
