Prior to fault tracing/repair

Make a note of radio code if anti-theft coded radio installed.
Ignition off.
Disconnect battery negative lead

The ignition should be switched off and the battery negative lead disconnected, before any of the following are carried out.

Installing or removing special tool 998 8695.
Connection or disconnection of connectors and cabling.
Connection or disconnection of airbag modules, seat belt tensioners or sensor module.
Installing or removing SRS components.
Taking readings with an ohmmeter.
