Checking if fault persists

Ignition off.
Connect the engine control module (ECM).
Connect the immobilizer control module.
NOTE:
When the ignition has been switched on and off numerous times (within 30 seconds), certain engine control modules (ECM) transmit no new "question" (initiation signal). Wait 30 seconds with ignition off before switching the ignition on, if the ignition has been switched on and off in quick succession.
Ignition on.
Read DTCs.

Is the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) still stored?

YES
Refer to Select engine control module (ECM)
NO
