Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition
When a key is programmed to an immobilizer control module which is already initiated, the control module verifies that the key has been correctly programmed. If not diagnostic trouble code (DTC) IMM-225 is stored. At least one key code must be programmed in the immobilizer control module to store a diagnostic trouble code (DTC). faults which cause diagnostic trouble code (DTC) IMM-225 to be stored can also cause diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) IMM-233, IMM-234 or IMM-235 to be stored.
The diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are erased when the counter value is five.
Possible Source
- Open-circuit on cables between control module #9 or #10 and antenna ring.
- Short-circuit to ground on cables between control module #9 or #10 and antenna ring.
- Short-circuit to supply voltage on leads between control module #9 or #10 and antenna ring.
- Ignition key with defective transponder.
- Wrong type of ignition key, i.e. ignition key without transponder.
- EMC interference (strong electrical fields) disrupt communication between immobilizer control module and transponder.
- The ignition key is already programmed to another immobilizer control module.
Fault symptom[s]
- The engine starts but stalls directly.
