Fuel tank, replacing: Preparations

Draining the fuel tank

NOTE: Do not drain the fuel tank via the fuel filler pipe as this may damage the check valve.

5-door models:

Remove all the floor hatches. Fold the carpet out of the way
Remove the cover over the fuel pump (FP) unit.

4-door models:

Fold the right rear seat forward
Remove the cargo compartment carpet
Fold back the corner of wheel housing panel at the shock absorber mounting
Remove the cover over the fuel pump (FP) unit.
