Connecting And Starting The Test Instrument
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Volvo C70, 2001 Volvo C70, 2000 Volvo C70, 1999 Volvo C70, and 1998 Volvo C70. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The instrument must be connected between the heater control module and its wiring. This is carried out as follows:
- Switch off the ignition.
- Expose the control module.
- Disconnect the control module connector.
- Connect the instrument adapter to the control module.
- Connect the wiring connector to the adapter.
- Start the heater using the timer or the Autostart button (depending on the option available).
- Leave the heater switched on.
The test instrument is powered up when the text "ARDIC ISO TESTER" is displayed in the display window.
NOTE:
If the heater does not start correctly as a result of a fault, the test instrument will still be able to communicate with the control module if the heater has initiated a start. Therefore the heater should be left "started" while taking readings.
