Removing the three-way catalytic converter (TWC)

Remove
- The SIPS member at the rear edge of the three-way catalytic converter (TWC). Grind off the rivet holding the heat deflector plate.NOTE:
It is not necessary to reinstall the rivets to hold the heat deflector plates together. They are clamped into place by the SIPS member during installation.
- The SIPS member. Hang the heat deflector plate up with 2 screws.
- the nuts holding the rear edge of the three-way catalytic converter (TWC).
- the three-way catalytic converter (TWC). Transfer the front member with the rubber and holder to the new three-way catalytic converter (TWC). Tighten the holders in the member to 10 Nm.
NOTE:
Handle the three-way catalytic converter (TWC) exhaust boot carefully.
Replace the gaskets and nuts at both ends of the three-way catalytic converter (TWC).
Lubricate the threads and mating surfaces with copper paste, P/N: 1161408-8, at both ends of the three-way catalytic converter (TWC).
