Installing rear bumper

Install: 

• the energy absorber (damper/foam) for the rear section
• the rail on the body. Use 4 x M8 nuts. Tighten.

HINT: Use butyl tape to secure the nuts in the socket. Otherwise the nuts are easy to lose. 

Install: 

• the 4 x sound proofing sections in the cargo compartment
• the 4 connectors for the parking assistance sensors.

Guide the hooks (6) for the bumper into the grooves (7) on the side bracket. Press in at the top and center so that the hooks engage.

HINT: This operation is easier with two people. 

Install: 

• the 4 clips on the underside of the casing
• the screws, 1 on each side.

Install: 

• the spring nuts, 1 on each side.

• the screws, 1 on each side. Tighten.

• the center console locker or the subwoofer
• the battery. See: Battery, replacing (model year 2004)
• the front floor hatch
• the rear floor hatch.
