Checking the wiring and the relay

If the stop (brake) lamp does not light, check the cable between rear electronic module terminal #4D and high level stop (brake) lamps terminal #1. Check for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults . Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults .

Check the cable between high level stop (brake) lamps terminal #5 and ground. Check for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults . Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-circuit to supply voltage. Permanent faults .

If the high level stop (brake) lamps are constantly lit, check the cable between rear electronic module terminal #4D and high level stop (brake) lamps terminal #1 for a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Short-circuit to supply voltage. Permanent faults .
