Checking components and wiring: Overview

CAUTION:

Do not apply rust solvent spray or grease to the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) connector.

Check the signal cable (+) between heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) terminal #1 and control module terminal #A43 (A#43). Check the cable for pump current between heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) terminal #6 and control module terminal #A25 (#A25). Check for an open-circuit, short-circuit to ground and a short-circuit to supply voltage.

Try a new heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) if the wiring is OK.

Remedy as necessary.

HINT: If the fault remains after fault-tracing, it may indicate that the fault is in the circuit for the rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S).
