Checking the oil level

Draining the transmission fluid 

Collect the oil in a container.

Remove the drain plug (1). Drain the oil.

Install the plug with a new gasket. Tighten. See Summary of tightening torques for specific components .

Remove the level plug (2). Fill with oil. Use only Volvo transmission oil P/N 116 1745 (1 liter). Volume in the transmission 2.0 liters.

Install the level plug with a new gasket. Tighten. See Summary of tightening torques for specific components .
