Checks after replacing gearbox
Top up and check coolant level before and during the road test.
Check the oil level. See: Oil level, checking .
NOTE:
If it is a new or exchange gearbox, it will be filled with fluid plus an extra amount from the manufacturers. The extra amount is to compensate for the oil cooler. The fluid level must always be checked, however.
