Anti-Roll Bar Front, Replacing: Installation: Finishing
- Press up the rear edge of the sub-frame. Use a mobile jack and universal plate 9995972 .
- At the same time, locate the steering gear mounting screws in the frame and, on right-hand drive cars , the collision protection system screw.
- Install the sub-frame brackets loosely together with the washers.
- Install the rear screws in the sub-frame. Use new screws. Lube the screws with oil. Do not tighten yet.
- Transfer the mobile jack to the sub-frame front edge.
- Replace the front sub-frame's screws and lube them with oil.
- First tighten the screws on the left side of the sub-frame. Tighten to 105 Nm . Angle tighten to 120° . Then tighten the right-hand side to the same value as the left side.
- Tighten the screws for the brackets on both sides. Tighten to 50 Nm
- Remove the mobile jack.
Install
- the four nuts and the screw holding the steering gear. Use new nuts and a new screw. Tighten to 50 Nm .
- nut (A), holding the collision protection lower half. (Applies only to right-hand drive cars). Tighten to 50 Nm .
- the oil pipe on the clamps for the steering gear and on any fuel line to the engine block heater.
- Assemble the EVAP canister hose.
Install
- the rear engine mounting screw. Tighten to 50 Nm .
- the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) in its mounting. (Does not apply to diesel cars) .
- the brake pipe on the exhaust pipe bracket
- the exhaust pipe bracket. Tighten the four screws for the bracket. Tighten to 25 Nm . Tighten both the M6 screws. Tighten to 10 Nm .
- the collision protection above the steering gear. (Applies only to right-hand drive cars). Tighten to 80 Nm .
- the splash guard under the engine.
Lower the car.
Remove the lifting tools from the engine.
Install the wheels. See Installing Wheels .
