Removing the whiplash unit on non-folding seats

Remove the side panel from the seat and place to one side.

Detach the cover over the screws on the side of the seat.

Remove the 4 screws holding the backrest cushion.

Lay down the backrest cushion on the seat cushion.

Detach the backrest upholstery at the bottom edge. See: Upholstery back rest, replacing .

Release the folding mechanism.

Lift the spring off the stop. Use 9512943 .

Pull the entire whiplash unit down to release one end of the whiplash element.

Remove the nut and the shaft.

NOTE:

Note the location of the bushing.

Slacken off and remove the upper screw.

Detach the bracket and remove the spring.

Angle out and remove the whiplash element.

Replace the rubber gasket with a new one.
