Checking the carrier plate

Check that the carrier plate is not damaged or cracked. To replace the carrier plate, see Replacing the carrier plate .

Check that: 

• the gearbox mating surfaces to the engine are clean. Check that the guide sleeves are fault free and in place
• the bushing for the torque converter in the crankshaft is fault free.
