Removing Inflatable Curtains
First read Preparation .
The hose clamp must not be opened under any circumstances. If the clamp is opened, it will not be possible to guarantee the safety of the joint. Leakage may result which would compromise the function.
Remove:
- The headlining. See Headlining, replacing .
Remove:
- the connector. See Igniter wire connector .
Remove:
- clips G and D
- the clips at the top of the A-post
- the screw (3) and unhook the IC (inflatable curtain).
(6 and 7 are removed when removing the grab handle)
Remove:
- screws 1, 2 and 8. Lift out the inflatable curtain.
(4 and 5 are removed when removing the grab handle)
Installing the inflatable curtain
If the inflatable curtain module is dropped, it must not be installed.
Install:
- clip C
- screw 1 (screw in until the thread engages only).
Remove the packaging by pulling it straight downwards.
Ensure that no bits of paper remain.
Install:
- screws 2 and 8.
(4 and 5 are installed when installing the grab handles)
Hook on the IC (inflatable curtain). Install screw 3.
It is very important that the hook is correctly installed.
Install:
- clip G.
(6 and 7 are installed when installing the grab handles)
Tighten screws 1-7. Tighten to 10 Nm .
Install:
- The connector
- The headlining. See Headlining, replacing
When installing the IC (inflatable curtain), part of the decal on the curtain must be ripped off and stuck on the decal in the door opening.
