Connecting the Breakout Box

• Ignition off
• Remove the Suspension Module (SUM). See Suspension Module (SUM), Replacing .

On the control module connectors check that: 

• the male and female terminals are undamaged and properly attached (cannot be pressed in)
• the wiring for the female terminals is securely connected
• In particular check those terminals that are relevant to the stored diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or symptom. See Signal Specification .

2-pin connector C 

Connect adapter 9512888 to the control module connectors. Connect breakout box 9511428 to the adapter.

30-pin connector A 

Connect adapter 9813194 to the control module connectors. Connect breakout box 9511428 to the adapter.

Disconnect the breakout box in reverse order.

HINT: Control module terminals #C1-#C2 correspond to terminals #31-#32 on the breakout box. Terminals #A1-#A30 correspond to terminals #1-#30 on the breakout box. 

The breakout box is designed to facilitate reading off the control module input and output signals when the control module is connected; and the cable and component resistance when the control module is disconnected. The use of a breakout box reduces the risk of accidental short-circuits and damage to the connector pins.
