Installing The Camshaft Covers
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2006 Volvo S80, 2005 Volvo S80, 2004 Volvo S80, 2003 Volvo S80, and 2002 Volvo S80. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Lubricate the camshaft lobes, the camshaft bearing surfaces and the valve lifters.
Install the camshaft cover.
Install press tool 9995454 (2x).
Tighten the camshaft cover screws alternately, keeping it parallel to the cylinder head with the press tools.
Install the intake manifold and lifting eyes, tighten screws from the middle and outwards.
Remove the press tool 999 5454
Install
- the spark plugs. Tighten to 30 Nm
- the variable valve timing (VVT) solenoid with a new gasket
- the plugs for the test holes. Tighten to 20 Nm
- the ignition coils according to the earlier marking
- the ground terminals between the ignition coils
- the upper engine stabilizer brace
- the cable duct for the coolant temperature sensor.
Connect the connectors for the
- the coolant temperature sensor
- Variable valve timing solenoid.
