Removing power seat

HINT: Move the seat to its center position lengthways so that all the mounting points are accessible. Also move the seat to the highest position.

Remove the multi-connector. See Removing multi-connector .

Remove:

the side piece from the front mounting for the seat. Pull straight up
the side piece from the rear mounting for the seat. Pull diagonally upwards and backwards
the four screws for the seat mounting.

HINT: Angle the seat backward. Secure the seat so that it does not fall forwards. Certain operations can now be carried out.

Lift the seat from the car.

NOTE:

Do not damage surfaces or materials when lifting the seat in and out of the car.

NOTE:

When removing a seat from a car with side airbags, the seat must be grounded. This is due to the danger of static electricity. Use special tool 9511522 .

NOTE:

Ensure that the extra ground lead clamps are secure.

HINT: Good ground terminals are the engine ground terminals, certain ground terminals in the car and good ground terminals in the work shop.
