Deployment levels for airbags and seat belt tensioners (1999-2000)

The table below shows how the SRS system in model year 1999-2000 reacts in the event of a frontal impact.

Collision level Front seats
  Seat belt not in use Seat belt in use
Level 1  The seat belt tensioner is not activated. The airbags deploy. The seat belt tensioner is activated. The airbags are not deployed.
Level 2  The seat belt tensioner is not activated. The airbags deploy. The seat belt tensioner is activated. The airbags deploy.
NOTE:

The deployment of the driver and passenger airbags is calculated individually.
