Secure the drive shaft. Remove the boot

Secure the drive shaft as close to the bearing as possible.

NOTE:

Do not over tighten. The shaft is hollow.

Remove the clamps from the boot. Press the outer section of the shaft inwards forcefully. At the same time pull the boot off the joint.

NOTE:

Take care that the shaft does not separate when the boot is removed from the constant velocity joint. The joint has no axial pinion.
