Checking the seat belt tensioner: Check

Insert a wire in the pipe on the seat belt tensioner as shown in the illustration.

Check the position of the piston in the seat belt tensioner.

Piston position A: 

The seat belt tensioner has deployed. Replace both the seat belt (inertia) reels and the seat belt tensioners. See Front seat belt .

Piston position B: 

The seat belt tensioner has not deployed.

No action is required

NOTE:

If any airbag has deployed, all seat belts and tensioners must be replaced.
