Power Steering Balance/Pump Pressure, Checking: Finishing

Disconnect the battery negative lead, see Battery, disconnecting .

Remove the test devices 9511506 and 9511506 version B.

Install the airbag, see Airbag driver, s side (SRS), replacing (4 spoke steering wheel) .

Disconnect the test instrument.

Install lock grip pliers on the oil pump return hose.

NOTE: Place paper over the alternator as protection against any oil spill.

Disconnect the test instrument and the nipples.

Connect the pressure pipe to the pump.

Use a new O-ring.

Early version up to and incl. model year 2004 (nut) Tighten with 25 Nm. Late version from and incl. model year 2005 (screw), tighten with 10 Nm.

Remove: 

Install the coolant hose for the control module.

Check the oil level in the reservoir. Use Volvo power steering fluid, P/N 1161529-1  to ensure the correct oil quality.

Start the engine. Check for leakage.

Disconnect the battery negative lead, see Battery, disconnecting .
