Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-4340

Condition 

The engine control module (ECM) receives confirmation via the controller area network (CAN) that the request for locking the fuel tank filler cover has been transmitted to the locking relay from the rear electronic module (REM). Locking must occur at 7 km/h.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) registers that the vehicle speed exceeds 7 km/h without the signal for locking being received.

Possible Source 

• Loose connections or contact resistance in the terminals for the controller area network (CAN)
• Damaged wiring for the control area network (CAN)
• Interference on the CAN signal wiring
• Another node in the high-speed control area network (CAN) is damaged.
