Exposing the engine
| 1. Drain the engine oil. | 5. Disconnect the turbocharger (TC) control hoses and valve from the holders on the rear edge of the cylinder head. |
| 2. Remove the heat deflector plate. | 6. Remove the exhaust manifold including the turbocharger with control hoses and valve. |
| 3. Remove the oil pressure pipe, the coolant pipes (turbocharger (TC) outlet) | 7. Remove the coolant pipes (inlet water pump) including hoses, separated at the hoses for the oil cooler. |
| 4. Remove the oil return line, the coolant pipes (turbocharger (TC) intake) | 8. Remove the upper and front timing covers and the cover over the ignition coils. |
| 1. Remove the generator (GEN), the auxiliary equipment bracket and the thermostat housing together with the coolant hose. | 5. Remove the crankcase ventilation hose from the top of the camshaft cover |
| 2. Remove the dip stick pipe. | 6. Remove the intake manifold and the thermostat housing |
| 3. Remove the cover and the fuel rail including the injectors | 7. Remove the engine stabilizer brace, engine wiring assembly. Ignition coils. |
| 4. Disconnect the water heated crankcase ventilation from the intake manifold and the thermostat housing | 8. Remove the camshaft position (CMP) sensor housings and the trigger wheels. |
