Seat Belt Tensioner, Checking
NOTE:

CAUTION:
When replacing deployed seat belt tensioners, seat belt buckles and end mountings must always be replaced.
Seat belt tensioners can be checked in two different ways:
- Check for any stored diagnostic trouble code (DTC) using VIDA
- Physical check as follows.
Insert a wire in the pipe on the seat belt tensioner as shown.
Check the piston position in the seat belt tensioner.
Piston position A:
The seat belt tensioner has deployed. Replace the seat belt tensioner, seat belt buckle and end mounting.
Piston position B:
The seat belt tensioner has not deployed. No corrective action is required.
