• Ignition off.
• Check function of brake fluid level guard. Measure the voltage between brake fluid level guard 1 and 2.

  When fluid level is low the voltage should be 0 V, and when level is full the voltage should be 12. See Driver Information Module (DIM), Replacing  .

  Check wires between combined instrument 5, and brake fluid level guard 1 for a short circuit to ground as described in Short-Circuit To Ground, Permanent Faults .
