Removing The Battery

NOTE:

To determine whether or not the battery is working, the performance of the battery must be checked in accordance with: Fault-tracing and testing the battery (if not performed earlier).

Remove:

the floor hatch
the nuts, 2, which attaches the mounting to the floor and undo the nut holding the mounting to the rear crossmember
the mounting
the splash guard.

CAUTION:

For removing/installing battery cables, see: Battery, Disconnecting .

Pull the drain hose off the side of the battery

Remove:

the battery cables from the battery terminals
the screw and the bracket.

Lift out the battery.
