Removing The Drive Shaft From The Hub

Pull out the spring strut and remove the drive shaft from the hub. Hold the spring strut to one side using a tensioning strap for more space when removing the drive shaft.

CAUTION:

Later models have a rubber seal on the constant velocity joint. Do not damage the seal. It will be needed for installation.

Use jimmy tool 9995462 when removing the drive shaft.

NOTE:

Pull the Constant Velocity Joint , not the drive shaft joints, when removing the drive shaft. There is no axle pinion.

NOTE:

Take care not to damage the drive shaft when removing it from the transmission.

Install sealing plug 9995488 in the transmission.
