Rear wheel hub, replacing: Removal
Removing rear wheels
Remove the rear wheel.
Removing the brake caliper and brake disc
Remove:
- the wheel sensor cable from the retainer on the brake hose
- the brake caliper mounting screws.
Suspend the caliper in a steel wire.
- the brake disc locating pin/screw
- the brake disc.
Removing the wheel sensor
Clean the area around the wheel sensor and remove the screw.
Carefully remove the sensor from the wheel spindle.
Bind the sensor so it is well protected.
Installing the tensioner
Install 9995659 . See Tensioner 999 5659, User instructions .
Support the rear suspension 500 mm up between the fender edge and the center of the wheel.
Removing the hub
Remove:
- the 4 screws
- the hub.
Removal of screw for drive shaft
Remove:
- the rear wheel
- the screw for the drive shaft.
Removing the brake caliper and brake disc
Remove:
- the wheel sensor lead from the holder on the brake hose
- the brake caliper mounting screws.
Suspend the caliper with a steel wire.
- the brake disc locating pin/screw
- the brake disc.
Removing the wheel sensor
Clean around the wheel sensor and remove the screw.
Carefully remove the sensor from the stub axle.
Tie up the sensor well protected.
Installing the tensioner
Fit 9995659 as described in: Tensioner 999 5659, User instructions .
Support the rear suspension 500 mm up between the wing edge and the center of the wheel.
Removing the hub
Remove:
- the 4 screws
- the hub.
Make sure the drive shaft comes free from the rear wheel hub. There must not be any axial forces acting on the drive shaft joints.
Removal of screw for drive shaft
Remove:
- the rear wheel
- the screw for the drive shaft.
Removing the brake caliper and brake disc
Remove:
- the wheel sensor lead from the holder on the brake hose
- the brake caliper mounting screws.
Suspend the caliper with a steel wire.
- the brake disc locating pin/screw
- the brake disc.
Removing the wheel sensor
Clean around the wheel sensor and remove the screw.
