Checking the Component
Check that the parcel shelf does not have any large objects on it or that no tinted film containing metal oxides is mounted on the rear windshield. This can affect GPS reception.
Check the cable terminals on the connectors. The cable terminals must not be damaged, pressed back or oxidized.
Check that connector G is correctly connected.
Check the cable between the RTI (road traffic information) control module terminal #G1 and the GPS antenna terminal #G1. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. See Short-Circuit To Supply Voltage. Permanent Faults . Check for a short-circuit to ground. See Short-Circuit To Ground, Permanent Faults . Check for an open-circuit. See Open-Circuit, Permanent Faults .
Check the cable between the RTI (road traffic information) control module terminal #G2 and the GPS antenna terminal #G2. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. Remedy as necessary.
