Installing the privacy handset
- Turn the center console upside down and place it on a surface which cannot cause any damage.
- Cut out along the embossing in the bottom of the storage compartment to the rubber grommet for the cable to the telephone handset.
- Smooth off the edges.
- Apply a strip of tape in the middle of the raised portion in the storage compartment as shown in the illustration.

- Insert a steel wire into the hole on the spring clip in the hole for the screw to the mounting.
- Guide the handset holder down in the bottom of the compartment so that the catches engage the corresponding holes in the bottom of the compartment.

- Press down with the wire so that the tape is perforated.
- Take a Ø5.5 mm (7/32") diameter drill bit and drill out the hole according to the marking in the strip of tape.
- Remove the dust/debris and smooth off the edges.
- Take the handset holder and the handset out of the kit. Thread the black connector down on the cable to the handset through the handset holder.
- Press in the rubber grommet with the cable pointing forward in the cut-out hole.
- Press in the handset holder from the kit in the bottom of the storage compartment.
- Tighten with a screw from the kit.
- Take a new screw from the kit and tighten the handset holder in the bottom of the storage compartment.
- Reinstall the center console in its position.
- Remove the tape on the handbrake lever.
- Route the cable for the telephone handset into the center console.
- Tighten the center console at the front and rear edges.

- Reinstall the 12 volt socket panel
- Connect the connectors (1) for the 12 volt socket
- Connect the pre-routed cable (2) from the center console to the handset cable (3)
- Reinstall the ashtray, or the holder and cover. Press the cable for the telephone into place on the reverse of the ashtray holder.
- Reinstall the center console panels.
