Sun Roof, Leak Test

Leak test
If any work that may effect the sun roof seals has been carried out, it must be checked
Remove:
- the A-post panel:
Detach the weatherstrip at the panel: Pull straight down.
Remove the 2 steel clips.
Pull the panel straight inwards into the car.
Lift upwards.
Install:
In reverse order.
NOTE:It is important that the clips are correctly positioned and that the panel is in position or the Inflatable Curtain (IC) may be negatively affected.
- the cargo compartment panels:
Fold down rear seat backrests.
Remove:
- the side cushion.
- the floor hatch
- two clips
- two clips and two nuts
- the panel.
Install:
In reverse order.
Seal the drainage hoses and pour water into the sun roof base plate.
The front hoses are positioned between the A-post and the front of the sun roof. Seal the hoses with hose clips 1158957 .
The rear hoses are inside the side panels in the cargo compartment. Seal with hose clips 1158957 .
After work involving the removal of the drainage frame, carry out the following test:
- Test both the gutters for leaks at the front and rear edges before installing them in the car.
- Install the sun roof base plate in the car and connect the drain hoses.
- Check that all seals are intact. Install other components.
- Seal the drains as above.
- Check for leaks.
- Remove the hose clip and sealant.
- Check that the drains function.
