Checking cables and components

HINT: The antenna cable is connected to the GPS antenna via a connector on the right A-pillar.

• Ignition off.

  Check the antenna cable between the phone module (PHM) connector G (grey) and connector E (connector 1) on the right A-pillar for an open circuit as described in Open-circuit, permanent faults .

  If no fault is found on the antenna cable, test again after replacing antenna.

  Do the necessary corrective action.

  Additional information: 

  • In terms of DC voltage, the GPS antenna has a fixed internal resistance of approximately 60Ω.
  • Using an ohmmeter, the resistance between the signal wire and mudguard or body ground antenna cable, between the phone module and the right A-pillar connector should be infinite.
