Checking EVAP Canister

  1. Check that all EVAP canister inlets and outlets are airtight. Connect a vacuum pump to EVAP canister terminals one at a time. It should NOT be possible to create vacuum.
  2. If faulty EVAP canister was found, replace EVAP canister. See REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION - EXCEPT S40 & V40 article. Go to VERIFICATION . If EVAP is okay, go to CHECKING HOSE BETWEEN FUEL TANK & EVAP CANISTER .
