Checking Vacuum At EVAP Canister

  1. Turn ignition off. Reinstall hose to canister purge valve. Disconnect canister purge valve vacuum hose from EVAP canister. Start engine and let idle. Read out canister purge valve status to check whether it is activated. Check that there is vacuum in canister purge valve when valve is activated. See Fig 1.

  2. If vacuum is present, go to CHECKING EVAP CANISTER . If vacuum is not present, go to CHECKING HOSE BETWEEN CANISTER PURGE VALVE & EVAP CANISTER .
