Removing turbo 2
NOTE:
Seal the openings in the inlet and charge air pipes.
Remove:
- the intake manifold
- the charge air pipes
Remove the upper screw for the automatic transmission dip stick pipe.
CAUTION:
Note the position of the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S). Ensure that the probes are in the same position, risk of diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
Remove:
- heated oxygen sensor (HO2S). See: Installing front heated oxygen sensors (HO2S)
- the 2 x heat deflector plates
- hose/pipe for pressure regulator control
- the pipe screws for the coolant pipes
- the oil pressure line
- the oil return line
HINT: Use rust solvent.
NOTE:
Do not damage the oil pressure pipe. Lift up and remove the turbocharger and manifold.
- the 3 x nuts for the three-way catalytic converter (TWC)
- the nuts and washers at the manifold mounting at cylinders 4, 5 and 6. Carefully lift and twist the turbocharger and manifold to expose the oil pressure pipe.
