Installing the manifold and turbo 1

NOTE:

Ensure that the gaskets are correctly positioned.

Install new gaskets.

Lubricate the studs at the exhaust ports and at the flange on the turbocharger (TC) flange to the three-way catalytic converter (TWC). Use paste P/N 116 1408.

Install:

washers and new M8 nuts that hold the manifold to the cylinder head
hose/pipe for pressure regulator control
the three-way catalytic converter (TWC). Use new M8 nuts
the oil pressure line. Tighten. See: Summary of tightening torques for specific components

the pipe screws for the coolant pipes. Tighten. See: Summary of tightening torques for specific components

the 2 x heat deflector plates.

CAUTION:

Ensure that the probes are in the same position to prevent diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) being stored

Install:

heated oxygen sensor (HO2S). See: Installing front heated oxygen sensors (HO2S)
the upper pipe screws for the coolant pipes. Tighten. See: Summary of tightening torques for specific components .

Raise the vehicle.

Install the 2 x connectors for the front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S).
