Shock Absorber & Anti Roll Bar
The shock absorbers are the double action hydraulic telescopic type. They are maintenance free and cannot be disassembled. The shock absorbers consist of spring strut tubes with spring seats and their piston rods act as the spring strut mountings in the upper bearings. The anti-roll bar is fixed to the sub-frame side member with 2 clamps and connected to the spring struts with 2 control arms.
The correct shock absorber level is pre-set and is dependent on load and spring stiffness. If the car sinks after being parked for several hours or under load it does not mean that the damper is faulty. The difference between right and left sides may be a maximum of .59" (15 mm). The self-leveling begins automatically at the same time as the driving and after a few kilometers the normal level will be reset. If the car sinks under the set height while driving it means that there is a loss of fluid or gas. If this happens it means that at least one shock absorber is faulty and requires replacement.
