Side-Impact Sensors: Removal

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove front and rear door sill molding. Remove seat belt from mounting. Move front seat as far forward as possible. Remove sealing trim strip. Remove B-pillar trim panel. Disconnect side-impact sensor connector. Remove 2 screws securing sensor and remove from B-pillar. See Figure.
