Parking Brake Cable (Later Version): Removal

  1. Remove cigarette lighter panel (2 bolts). If Data Link Connnector (DLC) is fitted, remove this from panel first.
  2. Put parking brake on and put gearshift in neutral.
  3. Remove the 2 cover panels, one under the hand brake lever and the other under the armrest. See Figure.
  4. Remove the four console bolts. See Figure.
  5. Undo the connectors at the front of the console.
    6. NOTE: Following step is for vehicle with manual transmission only.
  6. Undo gearshift gaiter's from tunnel console by pressing on gaiter's rear snap fastening from underneath through the hole under the parking brake lever.
  7. Lift rear end of console first and press it forwards until the parking brake lever comes free of the console cross member. Lift front edge and remove console.
  8. Remove rear wheel.
  9. Remove cable clip mounting bolt located in front of rear wheel arch. See Figure.
  10. Remove cable clip and rivet on carrier arm.
  11. Undo cable from carrier arm end piece by bending cable cover guide sleeve up and down moderately.
  12. Remove cable rear end from grip on expander.
  13. Remove cable rear end from grip on expander.
  14. Remove cable.
