Parking Brake Cable (Later Version): Installation

  1. Insert new cable through floor from outside.
  2. Install cable front end in parking brake mechanism.
  3. Check that "O" ring on cable cover guide sleeve is okay.
  4. Instal cable end in grip on expander.
  5. Pinch grip on expander around cable with a pair of pliers.
  6. Press guide sleeve home in carrier arm end piece.
  7. Install cable to carrier arm with a new clip and rivet.
  8. Install mounting bolt in front of rear wheel arch.
  9. Connect connectors at front of console.
  10. Install 4 console bolts.
  11. Install 2 cover panels, one under the hand brake lever and the other under the armrest.
  12. Install cigarette lighter panel (2 bolts).
  13. Install DLC if equipped.
    14. NOTE: Following step is for vehicles with manual transmission only.
  14. Attach gearshift gaiter by hooks at front of tunnel console.
  15. Press snap fasteners on sides and at back together.
