Removal & Installation (Back Rest Seat Motor)

  1. Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Make note of radio code if anti-theft radio is installed. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove seat from vehicle. See POWER SEAT  . Remove seat back upholstery. Remove screw securing back rest motor lower mounting and twist out motor. Use care not to damage the SIPS air bag wiring. Lift motor over in front of SIPS wiring.
  2. Remove 2 screws from upper mounting of adjuster cable. Remove mounting bracket and cable. Remove lower mounting. Disconnect Gray 14-pin connector from control module. Cut off 4 cable clamps holding cable to motor. Pull cable out and remove motor. Note pin positions in Gray 14-pin connector. Remove terminals from connector for re-installation. To install, reverse removal procedure.
