DTC 222: Motor No. 2 Signal Low

  1. This DTC will set if voltage from motor No. 2 potentiometer to seat control module circuit V2 is less than .2 volts. To correct this problem, turn ignition off. Using scan tool, select scrolling values and read value for motor No. 2 potentiometer.
  2. Move seat back fully forward and fully back several times. If voltage does not fall below .2 volts, problem is intermittent. Retest system. If voltage falls below .2 volts, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove seat from vehicle. See POWER SEAT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect seat control module 14-pin Gray connector. See Figure . Measure resistance between seat control module 14-pin Gray harness connector terminals No. 4 and 5. See Figure . If resistance is about 2200 ohms, go to step  6 . If resistance is not about 2200 ohms, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect motor No. 2 potentiometer connector and remove potentiometer. Measure resistance between outside terminals of potentiometer. If resistance is about 2200 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not about 2200 ohms, replace motor No. 2 potentiometer. See SEAT MOTORS  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  5. Measure resistance of Blue/White wire between seat control module 14-pin Gray connector terminal No. 5 and motor No. 2 potentiometer connector. If resistance is zero ohms, check and repair connectors for corroded or bent terminals. If resistance is more than zero ohms, repair open in Blue/White wire.
  6. Measure resistance between seat control module 14-pin Gray connector terminals No. 3 and 5. Resistance should be 100-2200 ohms. If resistance is as specified, check seat control module 14-pin Gray connector for corroded or bent terminals. If connector and terminals are okay, replace seat control module. See SEAT CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is more than specified, repair open White wire between seat control module 14-pin Gray connector terminal No. 3 and potentiometer. If resistance is less than specified, repair short to ground in White wire between seat control module 14-pin Gray connector terminal No. 3 and potentiometer. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
