DTC 143: Motor No. 1 Turning In Wrong Direction

  1. This DTC will set if seat control module receives a signal from motor No. 1 potentiometer that motor No. 1 is turning in the wrong direction. To correct this problem, check seat forward and backward movement with control button and memory buttons. If seat moves in proper direction, go to step  3 . If seat does not move in proper direction, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove seat from vehicle. See POWER SEAT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect seat control module 14-pin Black connector. See Figure . Press out seat control module 14-pin Black connector terminals No. 1 (Blue wire) and No. 2 (Violet wire). Reposition wires in connector, reversing terminal positions. Retest system.
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove seat from vehicle. See POWER SEAT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect seat control module 14-pin Black connector. See Figure . Ensure Brown wire is connected to terminal No. 12 and Red wire to terminal No. 13. See Figure . If wires are in wrong position, reposition wires in connector. Retest system. If wires are not in wrong position, replace seat control module. See SEAT CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
