Measuring Lateral Runout At Wheel Hub

Position the dial gauge against the flange.

Slowly turn the hub to the front using a socket wrench. The maximum permissible runout is 0.05 mm.

Replace the hub if it overlaps. Before replacing the front or rear hub see front end, control unit S40/V40, 1996-.
